The Tommy Thompson Scholarship
About the Scholarship
Tommy Thompson is a builder and developer from Owensboro, Kentucky who served as President of the Home Builders Association of Kentucky in 1983 and as President of the National Association of Home Builders in 1994. Upon completion of a successful term as National Association President, the Home Builders Association of Kentucky established a scholarship in his name.
Value of Scholarship
The value of the scholarship is $500.00.
The Tommy Thompson Scholarship is awarded to children of members of the Home Builders Association of Kentucky to assist those children in their pursuit of a post secondary degree. Scholarship recipients must:
A. Be the child of a member in good standing of the Home Builders Association of
B. Be a graduating high school senior accepted by an accredited two year
community college, four year college or university, a state vocational school or an
enrolled undergraduate student.
C. Be pursuing study in a housing related field, such as business management,
architecture, government affairs or other related housing studies.
The eleven trustees of the Tommy Thompson Scholarship Fund will meet after the application filing date to determine the recipients. The selection committee will weigh all aspects of the application on an even level. Therefor care must be taken to fill out the entire form.
In order to apply for the Tommy Thompson Scholarship, fill out the enclosed application and mail it to the Home Builders Association of Kentucky office, 1040 Burlington Lane, Frankfort, KY 40601. The scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis.
